Chess Enthusiasts Part I
From where I started to learn about Chess

Chess? It is one of the international strategic 2 player board game that emphasises critical thinking and tactical planning which is still famous until today’s day. Even though some people may think it is boring, hard and wasting time, but for some chess lover or I would say chess enthusiast, they will find joy in the intellectual challenge and beauty in chess.
Most people I knew will say the same. Chess boring, Chess Susah, tak faham. Well I admit it when I first to know about chess. But, now, I’m on the opposite side from them. I do love chess <3
Let me tell the long-short story. I started to learn about chess is at my age of 11. I considered myself as self learned because nobody ever explain to me what is this board game is all about, how to move the pieces, how to win and all. I just watched the game between my arwah Abah and Kak long. They do play chess during their leisure time. From there, I watch and learn. Yeah, zaman ni belum bermula lagi “era internet”, jadi main resources memang antara manusia atau buku je.
On the next year, I don’t know how, I participate myself in chess competition at school and surprisingly won the third place that qualify me to the state level. But, the competitors in state level are so strong that I can’t defeat the chosen first player of the state on the first round of the games. Huhuhuhu. It was a great and precious experience actually even though I come back home with an empty hand, but full of priceless joy and stories that kept neatly in mind until today.
After finish my primary school, I moved to new place, new school and met new friends. I skipped two years before I jump back to chess world. But this time, I managed to go the next level which is “peringkat kebangsaan” or “MSSM”. Amazing right? Yeah, I never imagined myself can go that far. Alhamdulillah. For three consecutive years, saya mewakili Negeri tempat saya menumpang teduh, Melaka. Even though never win anything, but of course I am the happiest person in world to make my parents proud of me. I bring along my father’s name everywhere i go and this is one the best moments happened during that 3 years experience.
